Crest neighborhood water system is about to start getting pressurized again for flushing. This will take some time. We encourage everyone to wait so you won't get a load of rust in your home's lines. Once flushed out, the Crest zone water customers (if your water was off yesterday and last night) will be able to use water again if all remains good otherwise. THESE CUSTOMERS WILL BE ON A BOIL ORDER FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS (for drinking water and cooking). Everyone else who is a Kamiah water customer need not do anything special, your water remains fine as it. This pertains only to the Crest high pressure zone customers whose water was off overnight .

Crest update: We expect water will remain out for the greater Crest neighborhood until late Saturday. The problem has been exposed, and it is a more complicated fix than expected. Parts are on their way. The repair will be taken as far as we reasonably can tonight, but more concrete will have to be poured tomorrow nd allowed to cure before we can pressurize and flush the affected line.
Those without water are welcome to come fill up buckets and jugs at the water plant (behind Riverfront Park) during this inconvenience. We will be open for this until 7PM tonight (Friday) and again starting at 7AM tomorrow (Saturday) until the service is restored.

Due to a line break part way up Crest Drive the Crest neighborhood will be out of water until the repairs are completed. Phone and cable utilities have been dispatched to make their lines so we cause no additional damage when we dig. Expect equipment and parked vehicles along Crest in the switchback area. Please use caution when driving through the work zone. There is a lot of rock which was blown out of the sinkhole. Vehicles with little ground clearance should use particular caution. We will get that rock cleared as soon as possible.
Will update once we know more after exposing the break.
