Meetings

Meetings of the Planning and Zoning Commission are usually held on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 507 Main Street.

About the Planning and Zoning Commission

The Commission consists of a five member panel appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The members are made up of individuals residing either within or without the City of Kamiah but interested in Kamiah’s welfare.

The members are all appointed to serve six-year terms.  All members must be residents of the county in which they are serving for at least two years, and must reside withing the county impact while serving on the commission.

Duties

The Planning and Zoning Commission has duties defined by Title 67, Chapter 65 of the Idaho Code, and by Title 2 Chapter 2.40 Section 040 of the Kamiah City Code. Generally, these duties consist of making recommendations to the City Council in relation to comprehensive planning, zoning and subdivision regulations.

Current Membership

As of 2-2019 the duties of the Planning and Zoning Commission have reverted to the City Council.
