Mayor Heater called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM

 

Motion to Approve Agenda was made by Council President Genese Simler and seconded by Council Member James Kelly.  Roll Call Vote: Genese Simler aye, James Kelly aye, Scott Moffett aye, Kaylee Hunt aye.

 

Motion to Approve Consent Agenda was made by Council Member James Kelly and seconded by Council Member Kaylee Hunt.  Roll Call Vote: Genese Simler aye, James Kelly aye, Scott Moffett aye, Kaylee Hunt aye.

 

Discuss / Approve Electrical Bid from Lochsa Electric: The Wastewater Treatment Plant needs a new heater.  The two they currently have quit working and are dated so parts are unavailable.  Lochsa Electric provided us with an estimate of $786.00 to supply and install a 240V-4000 Watt hanging heater.  Motion to approve the estimate was made by Council President Genese Simler and seconded by Council Member James Kelly.  Roll Call Vote: Genese Simler aye, James Kelly aye, Scott Moffett aye, Kaylee Hunt aye.

 

Discuss / Approve St Patrick’s Irish Festival and Parade: Robert Simmons & Dona Brown: The Chamber of Commerce would like to host an Irish Festival themed “Kamiah Goes Green,” on March 19th from 10:30 to 5.  They are requesting to block off part of Main Street and 4th Street for the event. It is hoped that this will become an annual event for Kamiah and will help to bring business to our community.  There will be numerous vendors, kid’s games, and a car show.  Motion to approve the Irish Festival and Parade was made by Council Member James Kelly and seconded by Council Member Scott Moffett.  Roll Call Vote: Genese Simler aye, James Kelly aye, Scott Moffett aye, Kaylee Hunt aye.

 

Kamiah Fire and Rescue Monthly Report: Bill Arsenault- For the month of January 2022 KFR had a total of 75 calls (59 Medical, 15 Fire Responses, 1 Hazard.) Of these calls 32 required transport.  The yearly calls for 2021 were 619 compared to 420 in 2020.  This is a 33% increase and Fire Chief Arsenault feels these numbers are going to continue to increase as our community continues to grow.
